- 1 1/2 cups chocolate wafer cookie crumbs
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

- 1 cup heavy whipping cream, cold
- 1 (3.4 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
- 1 1/2 cups cold milk (for pudding)
- 1 cup whipped topping, thawed
- Shaved chocolate or extra cookie crumbs, for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the crust by mixing the chocolate wafer crumbs and melted butter in a bowl. Press this mixture into the bottom of a large trifle dish or individual serving glasses. Chill for 15 minutes.
- Make the cheesecake layer by beating the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Beat in 1/4 cup of the cream-flavored syrup until fully combined. Set aside.
- Prepare the chocolate pudding by whisking the instant chocolate pudding mix with the cold milk until thickened, about 2 minutes. Gently fold in the thawed whipped topping.
- Whip the cold heavy whipping cream in a separate bowl until soft peaks form. Gently fold the remaining 1/4 cup of cream-flavored syrup into the whipped cream.
- Assemble the trifle by spreading the cream cheese mixture evenly over the chilled crust layer.
- Spoon the chocolate pudding mixture over the cheesecake layer.
- Top the pudding layer with the cream-flavored whipped cream mixture.
- Chill the trifle for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the layers to set firmly.
- Garnish the top with shaved chocolate or reserved cookie crumbs before serving.
