  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream, cold
  • 1 (3.4 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 1 1/2 cups cold milk (for pudding)
  • 1 cup whipped topping, thawed
  • Shaved chocolate or extra cookie crumbs, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust by mixing the chocolate wafer crumbs and melted butter in a bowl. Press this mixture into the bottom of a large trifle dish or individual serving glasses. Chill for 15 minutes.
  2. Make the cheesecake layer by beating the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Beat in 1/4 cup of the cream-flavored syrup until fully combined. Set aside.
  3. Prepare the chocolate pudding by whisking the instant chocolate pudding mix with the cold milk until thickened, about 2 minutes. Gently fold in the thawed whipped topping.
  4. Whip the cold heavy whipping cream in a separate bowl until soft peaks form. Gently fold the remaining 1/4 cup of cream-flavored syrup into the whipped cream.
  5. Assemble the trifle by spreading the cream cheese mixture evenly over the chilled crust layer.
  6. Spoon the chocolate pudding mixture over the cheesecake layer.
  7. Top the pudding layer with the cream-flavored whipped cream mixture.
  8. Chill the trifle for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the layers to set firmly.
  9. Garnish the top with shaved chocolate or reserved cookie crumbs before serving.
