Description

Quick and flavorful Turkey Tacos perfect for weeknight dinners, seasoned with aromatic spices and served with fresh toppings.


Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion, peeled and finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons taco seasoning
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar, packed
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Corn or flour tortillas
  • Cheese, for serving
  • Lettuce, for serving
  • Tomatoes, for serving
  • Avocado, for serving
  • Sour cream, for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil until shimmering.
  2. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the taco seasoning, garlic, and oregano until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  4. Add the ground turkey and cook, stirring occasionally, until almost cooked through but still slightly pink, about 2 minutes.
  5. Stir in the tomato sauce, apple cider vinegar, and brown sugar. Bring to a simmer and cook until thickened, about 4 minutes.
  6. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  7. Serve with warm tortillas and assorted toppings.

Notes

For a spicier version, add a chopped chipotle pepper or cayenne. Use homemade taco seasoning for customized spice levels.
