Description

A perfect blend of sweet and savory, these Texan BBQ candied nuts are a delightful snack for gatherings or a cozy evening at home.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups pecans
  • 1 1/2 cups almonds (raw unsalted or toasted)
  • 1 cup cashews (raw, unsalted or toasted)
  • 1 1/2 tsp cooking salt / kosher salt
  • 25g / 1 1/2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp chipotle
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Sea salt flakes (for taste)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix the pecans, almonds, and cashews in a bowl.
  3. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat, then add sugar, water, and all spices, stirring until combined.
  4. Pour the mixture over the nuts, mixing well to coat evenly.
  5. Spread the nuts on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden and fragrant.
  6. Allow to cool completely before serving.
