Description

A light and colorful dessert blooming with strawberry flavor, perfect for summer celebrations and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box white cake mix (plus ingredients listed on the box)
  • 1 box (3 oz) strawberry-flavored gelatin
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • ½ cup cold water
  • 1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping (thawed)
  • 1 ½ cups fresh strawberries, diced

Instructions

  1. Prepare and bake the white cake according to the package instructions in a 9×13-inch baking dish. Let the cake cool for about 15 minutes.
  2. Poke holes all over the surface of the cake using the handle of a wooden spoon.
  3. Mix the strawberry gelatin with boiling water until completely dissolved. Stir in the cold water.
  4. Pour the gelatin mixture evenly over the cake, making sure it seeps into the holes.
  5. Refrigerate the cake for at least 3 hours to allow the gelatin to set.
  6. Spread the whipped topping evenly over the chilled cake.
  7. Top with the diced fresh strawberries.
  8. Slice and serve chilled.

Notes

For best texture, chill the cake overnight. Use a sharp knife warmed under hot water for clean slices.
