- 1 box white cake mix (plus ingredients listed on the box)
- 1 box (3 oz) strawberry-flavored gelatin
- 1 cup boiling water
- ½ cup cold water
- 1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping (thawed)
- 1 ½ cups fresh strawberries, diced
Instructions
- Prepare and bake the white cake according to the package instructions in a 9×13-inch baking dish. Let the cake cool for about 15 minutes.
- Poke holes all over the surface of the cake using the handle of a wooden spoon.
- Mix the strawberry gelatin with boiling water until completely dissolved. Stir in the cold water.
- Pour the gelatin mixture evenly over the cake, making sure it seeps into the holes.
- Refrigerate the cake for at least 3 hours to allow the gelatin to set.
- Spread the whipped topping evenly over the chilled cake.
- Top with the diced fresh strawberries.
- Slice and serve chilled.
Notes
For best texture, chill the cake overnight. Use a sharp knife warmed under hot water for clean slices.
