Description

A sweet and savory honey garlic chicken dish, effortlessly made in a slow cooker, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • ½ cup honey
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place the boneless, skinless chicken breasts in the bottom of your slow cooker.
  2. Mix the sauce ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, ginger (if using), and sesame oil to combine well.
  3. Pour the honey garlic mixture evenly over the chicken in the slow cooker.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste, if desired.
  5. Cook on low for 4-6 hours or high for 2-3 hours, until the chicken is tender and cooked through.
  6. Thicken the sauce by mixing cornstarch and water in a small bowl until smooth, then add it to the slow cooker in the last 30 minutes of cooking and stir well.
  7. Shred the chicken with two forks once done, return it to the pot and stir it with the sauce.
  8. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, marinate the chicken in the sauce overnight before cooking. This dish pairs beautifully with jasmine rice and sautéed vegetables.
