- 5 chicken drumsticks (bone in, skin on)
- 1 tbsp poultry seasoning (or any BBQ rub)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp barbecue sauce
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- Pat chicken drumsticks dry with a paper towel.
- Season the chicken all over with poultry seasoning.
- Heat a large pan on medium or medium-high heat.
- Add olive oil; when hot, carefully add chicken drumsticks using tongs.
- Sear the drumsticks for a few minutes until lightly browned.
- Transfer the seared drumsticks into a slow cooker.
- Pour barbecue sauce over the chicken and add water.
- Cover and cook on high for about 4 hours or until done.
- Serve hot with extra barbecue sauce if desired.
Notes
Searing the chicken improves flavor and texture. Check liquid levels in the crock pot during cooking.
