Description

A refreshingly creamy coleslaw featuring crisp cabbage, vibrant carrots, and a tangy dressing, perfect for barbecues and family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups green cabbage (finely shredded)
  • 1 cup red cabbage (finely shredded)
  • 1 large carrot (grated)
  • ¾ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon celery seeds
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Combine finely shredded green cabbage, red cabbage, and grated carrot in a large bowl.
  2. Whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, black pepper, celery seeds, and milk in a separate bowl until smooth.
  3. Pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture and toss gently to coat all the vegetables evenly.
  4. Adjust the seasoning if necessary, adding more salt or vinegar according to your preference.
  5. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  6. Stir the coleslaw to redistribute the dressing before serving.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley or additional celery seeds for a touch of elegance.

Notes

This coleslaw can be made a day in advance and stored in the refrigerator. For best texture, consume within three days.
