- 1 lb chicken meatballs
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 tbsp butter
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 1/2 cup heavy cream (or dairy-free substitute)
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese (or dairy-free substitute)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Fresh herbs (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking dish by lightly greasing it.
- Mix ground chicken, minced garlic, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl.
- Form the mixture into meatballs.
- Heat butter and olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add meatballs, cooking until browned on all sides, about 8 minutes.
- Remove meatballs from the pan and set them aside on a plate.
- Cook the orzo in the same pan according to package directions, stirring occasionally.
- Add heavy cream and Parmesan cheese to create a creamy sauce.
- Return meatballs to the pan and gently stir to coat them in the sauce.
- Transfer everything to the prepared baking dish and bake for 10-15 minutes until heated through.
- Serve garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
Notes
Use fresh ingredients for better flavor. This dish pairs well with a light side salad or garlic bread.
