Description

Juicy Grilled Chicken Breasts are marinated in lemon juice and oregano for a bright, savory flavor that’s perfect for summer grilling.


Ingredients

  • 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice, plus wedges for serving
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano or parsley
  • 1 teaspoon seasoning salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Gather the ingredients.
  2. Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate.
  3. Place chicken breast between two sheets of plastic wrap on a cutting board and pound to 1/2-inch thickness.
  4. Add lemon juice, olive oil, dried oregano or parsley, seasoning salt, black pepper, and onion powder to a large zip-top bag; add chicken and seal the bag.
  5. Massage the chicken to distribute the marinade.
  6. Marinate chicken in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes or up to 12 hours.
  7. Preheat the grill again to medium-high and lightly oil the grate.
  8. Place chicken breasts, smooth-side down, on the grill; cook, covered, until no longer pink, about 5 minutes per side.
  9. Transfer chicken to a cutting board and tent with aluminum foil.
  10. Let rest for 5 minutes and serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

For a smoky flavor, add herb sprigs or citrus slices to the grill. Make sure to rest the chicken after cooking for juicy results.
