Description
A flavorful Mediterranean dish made with marinated chicken, served in warm pita bread, and topped with tzatziki sauce and fresh veggies.

- 2 pounds chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 1 cucumber, seeded and grated
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon dill, chopped
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 4–6 pita breads
- 1 tomato, sliced
- 1 red onion, thinly sliced
- Fresh lettuce, chopped
Instructions
- Combine olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Add the chicken thighs and coat well with the marinade. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best flavor.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Grill the chicken for 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and slightly charred.
- Let the chicken rest before slicing thinly.
- Combine Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, garlic, olive oil, and dill in a bowl for the tzatziki sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then chill.
- Warm the pita breads on the grill or in a pan.
- Place some lettuce on each pita, followed by sliced chicken, tomato slices, and red onion.
- Drizzle with tzatziki sauce, fold the pita over, and serve immediately.
Notes
For best flavor, marinate the chicken overnight. Use fresh ingredients for optimal taste.
