Description
A comforting and easy-to-make pulled BBQ chicken perfect for family dinners and gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 chicken breasts
- 1 18 oz bottle Sweet Baby Ray’s Hickory & Brown Sugar Barbecue Sauce
- ⅓ cup light brown sugar
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ¼ tsp smoked paprika
- ¼ tsp chipotle chili powder
- ¼ tsp ground white pepper
Instructions
- Arrange the chicken breasts in the slow cooker and set it to LOW.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the barbecue sauce, light brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, chipotle chili powder, and ground white pepper until smooth and well blended.
- Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken, using a spoon to turn and coat each piece evenly. Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or on HIGH for 3–4 hours, until the chicken is very tender and easily shreds with a fork.
- Once cooked, use two forks to pull the chicken apart directly in the slow cooker, stirring it into the sauce until fully coated.
- Serve the juicy pulled BBQ chicken on warm, buttered, and lightly toasted hamburger buns.
Notes
For added flavor, consider marinating the chicken in the sauce overnight before cooking.
