Description

This easy pulled chicken, infused with savory barbecue sauce and Italian dressing, is perfect for any gathering.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, with fat trimmed off
  • 1 1/4 cup barbecue sauce (such as Sweet Baby Ray’s Honey BBQ)
  • 1/2 cup Italian dressing (fat-free recommended)
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar (can reduce to 1/8 cup or omit)
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Spray the inside of a large crockpot with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder.
  3. Place the chicken in the bottom of the crockpot.
  4. Add barbecue sauce, Italian dressing, light brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce to a bowl and whisk until combined.
  5. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken.
  6. Cover with the lid and cook on high for 2.5-3 hours or low for 5-6 hours.
  7. Check the chicken’s internal temperature to ensure it’s at 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  8. Shred the chicken with two forks directly in the crockpot or serve whole.
  9. Serve on buns for sandwiches or over rice, tacos, or nachos.

Notes

Marinate the chicken in the sauce overnight for enhanced flavors. This recipe doubles easily for larger gatherings.
