Description

Juicy and flavorful BBQ chicken sliders made easily in a crockpot, perfect for gatherings and casual meals.


Ingredients

  • 4 pounds boneless skinless chicken breast
  • Sea salt (to taste)
  • Black pepper (to taste)
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 18 ounces barbecue sauce
  • 16 King’s Hawaiian rolls
  • Butter (softened)
  • Sliced pickles (optional garnish)
  • 1/2 onion, sliced (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season both sides of the chicken breast with sea salt, black pepper, and chili powder. Add the seasoned chicken to the slow cooker.
  2. Pour barbecue sauce over the top to cover the chicken completely.
  3. Place the cover on the slow cooker and cook on high for 4 hours or low for 6 to 8 hours, until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  4. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Cut Hawaiian rolls to create slider buns, brush with butter, and toast in the oven for about 10 minutes or until golden brown.
  5. Once the chicken is cooked through, use two forks to shred and pull the chicken, then toss it in the sauce until evenly coated.
  6. Serve the shredded chicken on the prepared buns with sliced pickles and onions, if desired.

Notes

For a flavorful boost, consider adding a dash of Worcestershire sauce or liquid smoke to the barbecue sauce.
