Description

Tender chicken slow-cooked with a tangy and sweet barbecue sauce, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 and 1/2 cups BBQ sauce
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Place chicken breasts into the bottom of the crockpot.
  2. In a bowl, mix BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken, covering each piece well.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  5. Once cooked, shred the chicken with two forks directly in the pot.
  6. Stir shredded chicken into the sauce and let it sit for 15-20 minutes on warm before serving.

Notes

For different flavors, try using chicken thighs or shredded rotisserie chicken. Adjust the seasoning for your preference.
