- 1 lb. ground chicken (preferably dark meat/thigh)
- 2 green onions, white and green parts, thinly sliced
- 1 chipotle pepper, canned in adobo sauce, chopped
- 2 Tbsp. almond flour
- ½ tsp. garlic powder
- ½ tsp. salt
- ⅛ tsp. black pepper
- 1 cup finely shredded Organic Valley Mild or Sharp Cheddar Cheese
- Optional toppings: gluten-free buns, lettuce leaves, sliced red onion, tomatoes, avocado, mayo
Instructions
- Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
- Place ground chicken, green onions, chipotle pepper, almond flour, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Mix to combine.
- Add shredded cheese and mix again to distribute evenly.
- Divide the mixture into 4 portions and pat into patties about ½-inch thick.
- Cook burgers for 5-6 minutes on each side until no longer pink in center or thermometer reads 165℉.
- Remove burgers from the grill and serve with desired toppings.
Notes
Ensure the grill is preheated for a good sear on the patties. Allowing the burgers to rest helps retain juiciness.
