Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 cups fresh blackberries
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in the flour, salt, and baking powder until the dough comes together, ensuring not to overmix.
  4. Press half of the dough mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  5. Toss the blackberries with lemon juice and cornstarch to coat.
  6. Spread the blackberry mixture evenly over the dough in the pan.
  7. Crumble the remaining dough over the top of the blackberries.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown.
