- 1 batch homemade or store-bought brownies, cut into small squares
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup cherry pie filling or fresh cherries, pitted and chopped
- 1 cup chocolate shavings or grated dark chocolate
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the whipped cream by mixing heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract, then whip until soft peaks form.
- In a clear glass trifle bowl, layer brownie squares at the bottom.
- Add a layer of cherry pie filling over the brownies. If using fresh cherries, macerate them briefly with sugar and lemon.
- Add a layer of whipped cream on top of the cherries.
- Repeat the layering process until all ingredients are used, finishing with whipped cream.
- Garnish with chocolate shavings and mint leaves.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 60 minutes before serving.
Notes
Use a wide spoon or offset spatula for clean layers. Keep cherries and whipped cream cold until assembly to maintain structure and color.
