- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix thoroughly.
- In another bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, and vanilla extract until well blended.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Test oil with a small amount of batter.
- Scoop tablespoons of batter and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
- Remove from oil and drain on paper towels. Let cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar.
- Enjoy warm beignets!
Notes
Maintain oil temperature for even cooking. Fry in small batches to avoid overcrowding. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
