Description

A classic Italian dessert featuring layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and creamy mascarpone cheese, dusted with cocoa powder for a rich finish.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup brewed coffee, cooled
  • 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur (optional)
  • 3 large eggs, separated
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 24 ladyfinger biscuits
  • Cocoa powder for dusting

Instructions

  1. Combine brewed coffee and coffee liqueur in a shallow dish. Dip ladyfingers briefly and arrange in a serving dish.
  2. Whisk egg yolks and sugar until pale and creamy. Fold in the mascarpone until smooth.
  3. Whip heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Fold it into the mascarpone mixture.
  4. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gently fold into the mascarpone mixture.
  5. Spread half of the mixture over the ladyfingers. Add another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining mixture.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight. Dust with cocoa powder before serving.

Notes

For the best flavor, allow the tiramisu to chill overnight. Use quality coffee and mascarpone for the best results.
