  • 4 tablespoons Butter
  • ¼ cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 3 cups Whole Milk, warmed
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon Mustard
  • ½ teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Onion Powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • A pinch of Nutmeg
  • 2 cups freshly shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 cup freshly shredded Gruyère or Fontina Cheese
  • 2 oz Cream Cheese, cubed
  • Salt and White Pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prep the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil, add pasta, and cook until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Make the Glaze: Whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and apple cider vinegar in a small bowl.
  3. Cook the Chicken: Season chicken breasts with salt and cracked pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet, cook chicken for 5-7 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove and let rest.
  4. Prepare the Sauce: Pour honey glaze into the skillet, deglaze, and simmer until thickened. Stir in butter.
  5. Coat the Chicken: Return chicken to skillet, coating generously with glaze.
  6. Make the Cheese Sauce: In a saucepan, melt butter, whisk in flour, then gradually add warmed milk. Stir in mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and nutmeg. Whisk in shredded cheeses until melted.
  7. Combine Flavors: Fold cooked pasta into the cheese sauce.
  8. Serve: Plate mac and cheese, top with glazed chicken, and drizzle with remaining honey glaze.
