- 1/4 cup (60mL) vegetable oil
- 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs, at room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups (360g) mashed ripe bananas (about 3–4 medium)
- 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions

2. Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
3. In a large bowl, whisk melted butter, oil, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth. Stir in mashed bananas.
4. Add dry ingredients and chocolate chips. Gently fold until just combined. Do not overmix.
5. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and bake for 50–60 minutes until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
6. Cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then lift out and cool fully before slicing.
Notes
Use extra ripe bananas for the best flavor and moisture.
If browning too quickly, tent with foil halfway through baking.
For muffins, bake in a muffin tin for 18–22 minutes at 350°F.
You can freeze this bread in slices wrapped tightly in plastic wrap and foil for up to 3 months.
