Description

A comforting casserole that combines the delightful flavors of stuffed cabbage rolls into a hearty dish, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium head of cabbage, chopped
  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 cup beef broth or water

Instructions

  1. In an Instant Pot, set to sauté mode, brown the ground beef until it is fully cooked. Drain any excess fat for a cleaner flavor.
  2. Add the diced onions and minced garlic; sauté until the onions become translucent and fragrant, about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the chopped cabbage, diced tomatoes, paprika, salt, pepper, oregano, and beef broth, mixing well to combine all the ingredients.
  4. Close the lid of the Instant Pot, set to high pressure for 10 minutes, then allow the pressure to release naturally.
  5. If using a slow cooker, combine all the ingredients in it and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
  6. Serve hot.

Notes

For a healthier option, swap ground beef for turkey or a vegetarian protein like lentils. This casserole can be made in advance and frozen.
