Description
A quick and comforting weeknight meal featuring tender chicken, al dente penne, and a glossy honey garlic sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 8 oz penne pasta
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Boil a large pot of salted water and cook penne pasta until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Whisk together soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, sesame oil, and cornstarch in a small bowl until smooth. Set aside.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken pieces until golden brown and cooked through, about 5–7 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- Pour the sauce into the same skillet and bring to a simmer. Stir constantly until thickened, about 2–3 minutes.
- Return chicken to the skillet and toss to coat in the sticky sauce.
- Add cooked pasta and stir to combine everything well. Cook for 1–2 more minutes.
- Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving hot.
Notes
Pat chicken dry before searing for better browning. Reserve pasta water for added sauce thickness if needed.
