Description

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your bundt pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Mix in buttermilk and vanilla extract until combined.
  6. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring gently.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 40-50 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cake to cool for 10 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and cinnamon until smooth. Drizzle over the cooled cake.

For a gluten-free version, use a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend. Ensure your ingredients are at room temperature for an even bake.
