Description
A delightful sourdough pizza crust that brings nostalgic flavors and a crispy texture to your homemade pizzas.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sourdough discard
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt.
- Pour in the sourdough discard and warm water. Mix gently until a rough dough begins to form.
- Drizzle in the olive oil and knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes, or until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough back in the bowl, cover it, and allow it to rest for 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone inside to heat.
- Roll the dough out on a floured surface to your desired thickness, about 1/4 inch for a crispy base.
- Carefully transfer the rolled dough onto a pizza stone or a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Add your favorite sauces and toppings.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and crisp.
Notes
For deeper flavor, let the dough ferment in the fridge overnight. Experiment with different toppings and keep the dough at an even thickness for consistent baking.
