- 1 packet (1 oz/28g) Italian dressing mix
- ½ cup (120ml) chicken broth, low-sodium preferred
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 8 oz (225g) cream cheese, softened and cubed
- 1 can (10.5 oz/298g) condensed cream of chicken soup
- ½ cup (50g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Layer the Ingredients: Place the chicken breasts in a single layer at the bottom of your slow cooker. Pour the chicken broth over the chicken, then sprinkle with the Italian dressing mix, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes (if desired).
- Cook Until Tender: Cover and cook on low for 5-6 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Add the Creaminess: About 30-45 minutes before eating, add the cream cheese and condensed cream of chicken soup to the slow cooker, stirring gently to blend.
- Shred and Mix: Shred the chicken directly in the slow cooker and stir to combine with the sauce.
- Finish It Off: Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese just before serving and garnish with parsley.
Notes
