  • 1 can unsalted cream of chicken soup (10.5 oz)
  • 2 envelopes chicken gravy mix (0.87 oz each)
  • 1/2 cup water or chicken broth (optional, for a thinner gravy)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Hot steamed rice (for serving; alternatively, serve over mashed potatoes, egg noodles, or bread)

Instructions

  1. Place the boneless, skinless chicken breasts in the base of your slow cooker, ensuring they are evenly arranged. Sprinkle salt and pepper generously on both sides of the chicken.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the can of cream of chicken soup and both envelopes of chicken gravy mix. Mix in the optional water or chicken broth if you prefer a thinner consistency and stir until smooth.
  3. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken breasts in the slow cooker, completely covering them.
  4. Set the slow cooker to low heat and cover tightly. Cook for 4-5 hours, until the chicken is fork-tender and fully cooked through.
  5. Carefully remove the chicken from the slow cooker and use two forks to shred it right in the gravy, mixing to coat all shreds.
