Description

A comforting shrimp casserole that’s quick to prepare and full of rich flavors, perfect for family dinners or gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds large shrimp (2124 count), peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning, plus 1 tablespoon salt for cooking water
  • 2/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon butter, plus more to grease the pan
  • 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 4 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 ounces shredded medium cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 2 1/2 quart casserole dish with butter.
  2. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and add Old Bay seasoning. Cook the shrimp until they turn opaque, about 30 seconds, then drain and transfer them to a bowl.
  3. Stir in the mayonnaise, garlic powder, and black pepper into the shrimp. Mix until fully coated.
  4. Add shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese, gently mixing to combine. Transfer this mixture into the greased casserole dish.
  5. Melt butter in a small skillet and stir in panko bread crumbs, then sprinkle this over the shrimp mixture.
  6. Bake uncovered for about 13-15 minutes, or until the casserole reaches 145°F. Broil for 1-2 minutes if desired for a crispy topping. Let it rest for 15 minutes before serving.

Notes

Allowing the casserole to rest enhances flavors. You can prepare it in advance for easy baking later.
