- 4 large russet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a buttered baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes.
- In a large bowl, mix together the heavy cream, milk, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes, sprinkle with half of the cheese.
- Repeat the layering with the remaining potatoes, cream mixture, and cheese.
- Dot the top with additional butter for a golden finish.
- Cover tightly with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Allow to rest before serving.
