Description
Delicious salted maple pecan pie bars with a buttery crust and rich filling, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 large eggs
- 3/4 cup pure maple syrup
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups chopped pecans
- Flaky sea salt for topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13 inch pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal later.
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, brown sugar, and salt for the crust.
- Add the softened butter into the dry mixture. Combine until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Press the crust mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan. Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.
- While the crust bakes, whisk together the eggs, maple syrup, sugar, flour, and vanilla until smooth and well combined.
- Stir in the chopped pecans, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the filling.
- Once the crust is done, pour the pecan mixture over it. Bake for an additional 30-35 minutes, or until the filling is set and a little bubbly.
- Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan. Once cool, lift from the pan using the parchment overhang and cut into squares. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt before serving.
Notes
For best results, cool bars completely before cutting. Chilling in the fridge helps them hold their shape.
