Description

A rich and tender brownie cake that brings warmth and joy with each delightful bite, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 Cup Unsweetened natural cocoa powder (45 g)
  • 1 1/2 Cups Heavy whipping cream (360 ml)
  • 11 TBSP Unsalted butter, cut into 1″ pieces (160 g)
  • 3/4 Cup Unsweetened chocolate, chopped (120 g)
  • 1/2 Cup Light brown sugar (100 g)
  • 1 Cup Granulated sugar (200 g)
  • 4 Large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 Cup All-purpose flour (120 g)
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Cup Semi-sweet chopped chocolate (170 g)
  • 2 Tablespoon Vegetable oil (30 ml)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the chopped chocolate and unsalted butter, stirring frequently until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. Add both the granulated sugar and light brown sugar to the melted chocolate mixture. Stir until fully combined.
  4. Incorporate the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. The mixture should be glossy and thick.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry mixture to the chocolate mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  7. Gently fold in the semi-sweet chopped chocolate, allowing those delicious chunks to scatter throughout.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly. Bake for about 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before slicing into squares. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

For a gluten-free version, substitute all-purpose flour with a gluten-free blend. For a vegan option, use flax eggs and vegan butter.
