Instructions
- Sear the chicken (optional): Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sear the chicken breasts for 2–3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Prepare the sauce: In your crock pot, combine cream of chicken soup, ranch seasoning mix, chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Stir until smooth.
- Add chicken to the pot: Place seared chicken breasts into the crockpot, ensuring each piece is coated with the sauce.
- Cook to perfection: Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or on high for 3–4 hours until the chicken is tender.
- Shred chicken: Shred the chicken in the pot using two forks and mix it with the sauce.
- Stir in sour cream: Add the sour cream and mix until creamy.
- Add toppings (optional): Sprinkle with cheddar cheese and fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
Avoid lifting the lid while cooking to maintain heat and moisture. Let the dish sit for 10 minutes after cooking for richer flavors.
