- 1 package of puff pastry (two sheets)
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite blend)
- 1 cup cooked, diced chicken or smoked turkey
- ½ cup finely chopped bell peppers
- ¼ cup chopped green onions
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheets into a rectangle about 1/8 inch thick.
- Cut the pastry into 3-inch squares.
- In a medium bowl, combine shredded cheese, diced chicken or turkey, bell peppers, green onions, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.
- Place a tablespoon of filling in the center of each pastry square.
- Fold the pastry over to create a triangle or rectangle. Press the edges with a fork to seal.
- Place the filled pastries on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Beat the egg and brush it over the tops.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm!
Notes
For best results, use chilled puff pastry and handle it as little as possible for extra flakiness.
