Description

Ingredients

  • 1 package of puff pastry (two sheets)
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite blend)
  • 1 cup cooked, diced chicken or smoked turkey
  • ½ cup finely chopped bell peppers
  • ¼ cup chopped green onions
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheets into a rectangle about 1/8 inch thick.
  3. Cut the pastry into 3-inch squares.
  4. In a medium bowl, combine shredded cheese, diced chicken or turkey, bell peppers, green onions, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.
  5. Place a tablespoon of filling in the center of each pastry square.
  6. Fold the pastry over to create a triangle or rectangle. Press the edges with a fork to seal.
  7. Place the filled pastries on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Beat the egg and brush it over the tops.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
  9. Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm!

Notes

For best results, use chilled puff pastry and handle it as little as possible for extra flakiness.
