Description
A delightful surf and turf dish featuring juicy steak paired with succulent garlic shrimp, crafted for elegant dining at home.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cloves garlic, smashed
- Fresh rosemary or thyme sprigs (optional)
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
Instructions
- Season the steaks generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.
- Heat olive oil in a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steaks for 3–4 minutes per side for desired doneness, adding butter, garlic, and herbs in the last minute.
- Remove steaks and let them rest on a plate.
- In the same skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add shrimp, seasoning with salt and black pepper; cook for 1–2 minutes on each side until pink and opaque.
- Add butter and minced garlic, cooking for an additional 1–2 minutes while stirring to coat shrimp.
- Finish with lemon juice and parsley, then serve shrimp over or alongside the steak.
Notes
Allow steaks to rest for juiciness; keep an eye on shrimp to avoid overcooking.
