Description

A delightful surf and turf dish featuring juicy steak paired with succulent garlic shrimp, crafted for elegant dining at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, smashed
  • Fresh rosemary or thyme sprigs (optional)
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley

Instructions

  1. Season the steaks generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  2. Heat olive oil in a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steaks for 3–4 minutes per side for desired doneness, adding butter, garlic, and herbs in the last minute.
  3. Remove steaks and let them rest on a plate.
  4. In the same skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add shrimp, seasoning with salt and black pepper; cook for 1–2 minutes on each side until pink and opaque.
  5. Add butter and minced garlic, cooking for an additional 1–2 minutes while stirring to coat shrimp.
  6. Finish with lemon juice and parsley, then serve shrimp over or alongside the steak.

Notes

Allow steaks to rest for juiciness; keep an eye on shrimp to avoid overcooking.
