Description
This Parmesan Meatloaf is the ultimate comfort food classic, upgraded with the salty, nutty flavor of Parmesan cheese. Moist, hearty, and topped with a sweet-savory glaze, it’s a weeknight winner or a nostalgic weekend treat.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef (preferably 80/20 mix for moisture and flavor)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 cup ketchup (for topping)
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar (for topping)
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (for topping)
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, milk, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, oregano, and parsley until just combined.
3. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish or loaf pan and shape into an even loaf.
4. Mix ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce in a small bowl and spread it over the top of the loaf.
5. Bake for 1 hour or until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
6. Remove from oven and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Don’t overmix the meat—just until combined for a tender texture.
Freshly grated Parmesan gives the richest flavor.
Let the loaf rest before slicing to keep it juicy and intact.
