- 2 pounds round steak, cut into pieces
- 1 cup flour
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Dredge the pieces of steak in flour, shaking off the excess.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the steak pieces on both sides, then remove and set aside.
- Add onion and garlic to the skillet and sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
- Return the steak to the skillet, pour in beef broth, add diced tomatoes, green bell pepper, salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir gently.
- Cover and reduce the heat to low. Simmer for 1.5 to 2 hours until the meat is fork-tender.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
Serve with creamy mashed potatoes or rice to soak up the sauce. Fresh veggies make a great side!
