Description

A comforting casserole that combines shredded chicken, creamy ingredients, and melted cheese for a delightful and nostalgic dish perfect for family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup French fried onions
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups cooked rice or pasta (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine in a large mixing bowl the chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Add cooked rice or pasta to the mixture if using, and stir.
  4. Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top, followed by the French fried onions.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until hot and bubbly.
  7. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For an even creamier dish, consider adding extra sour cream or a splash of cream.
