Description

A comforting Italian-inspired dish with a crispy exterior and gooey melted cheese, perfect for family gatherings or cozy nights.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a shallow dish, combine the breadcrumbs, half of the grated Parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. In another dish, whisk together the eggs and milk.
  4. Place the flour in a third dish to create a dredging station.
  5. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, coat in egg mixture, and then cover with breadcrumb mixture.
  6. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the coated chicken breasts for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  7. Transfer the chicken to a baking dish, sprinkle the remaining Parmesan and mozzarella over each piece, and add minced garlic.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.

Notes

For a crispy crust, avoid rushing the dredging process. Use a thermometer for perfectly cooked chicken.
