Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment.

- In a large bowl cream butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in vanilla extract, lemon zest, and lemon juice.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet, mixing until just combined.
- Press the dough evenly into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until edges are set.
- Cool bars in the pan for 15 minutes before lifting them out.
- Whisk powdered sugar with lemon juice to make the glaze.
- Pour and spread the glaze over cooled bars and let set for 30 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Chill the dough briefly if the kitchen is warm to keep it from becoming oily.
