Description

Ingredients

  • 1 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 bag jelly beans

Instructions

  1. Whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt together in a medium bowl. Set aside.
  2. Beat the butter and sugar together until creamed.
  3. Add the egg, almond extract, and vanilla extract and beat until combined.
  4. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
  5. Scoop dough and roll into balls; cover and chill for 1-2 hours.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  7. Place dough balls on baking sheets and bake for 10-12 minutes, until lightly browned.
  8. Remove from the oven; press jelly beans into the centers of warm cookies.
  9. Cool on a wire rack.

Notes

Chill the dough to prevent excessive spreading and maintain structure. Store baked cookies in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
