Description

A quick and easy recipe for honey soy glazed white fish that combines sweet and savory flavors, perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 fillets White fish (firm, mild varieties like cod or haddock)
  • 1/4 cup Honey
  • 3 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 2 cloves Garlic (finely minced)
  • 1 tsp Fresh ginger (grated)
  • 1 tsp Sesame oil
  • 3 stalks Green onions (thinly sliced)
  • 2 tbsp Sesame seeds (toasted)
  • Lemon wedges (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels and season lightly with pepper.
  2. Whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil until smooth.
  3. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat and add a tablespoon of neutral oil.
  4. Sear the fillets skin-side down (or presentation-side down if skinless) for 2–3 minutes.
  5. Flip the fillets carefully, reduce the heat to medium, and spoon half of the glaze over each piece.
  6. Let the glaze bubble and thicken slightly, about 2–3 minutes.
  7. Spoon the remaining glaze over the fish once more and cook until the fish reaches an opaque center, roughly 1–3 more minutes.
  8. Remove fish to a warm plate, sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions, and serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

For extra flavor, deglaze the pan with a splash of water or stock and drizzle over vegetables or rice.
