Description
A flavorful fusion dish combining sweet and savory elements in a quick one-pan meal that the whole family will love.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 oz short pasta (penne or rigatoni)
- 1 lb chicken sausage, sliced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- Optional: red pepper flakes for added heat
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta, reserving about half a cup of the pasta water for later.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced chicken sausage and cook until golden brown on both sides. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in the honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and chicken broth. Allow the mixture to simmer for 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly.
- Return the sausage to the skillet, mixing it with the sauce. Add the cooked pasta and toss everything together, gradually adding reserved pasta water until the desired consistency is reached.
- Stir in a tablespoon of butter until melted. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Sprinkle fresh parsley over the top before serving.
