- 10 cups dried bread cubes
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 cups celery, diced
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 teaspoons dried sage
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 4 cups vegetable or chicken broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onions and celery, sautéing until soft for about 5–7 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine the dried bread cubes and the sautéed onion and celery mixture.
- Stir in the herbs and enough broth to moisten the mixture.
- Transfer the stuffing to a baking dish and dot with additional butter on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 30–40 minutes or until golden brown and crispy on top.
