Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

1. In a medium saucepan, whisk together all ingredients.

2. Heat over medium heat until the mixture begins to simmer, stirring often.

3. Simmer for 6-8 minutes until thickened, then remove from heat.

4. Taste and adjust sweetness or tang if needed.

5. Cool slightly before using or transfer to a glass jar and refrigerate for up to 3 days.

Notes

For a smoky twist, add chipotle powder or smoked paprika.
