- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for even baking.
- Cream together the butter, sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy; about 2-3 minutes.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time and then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry mixture into the creamed butter mixture until just blended.
- Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space for spreading.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
- Allow to cool on the sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
Chill the dough for 30 minutes for better texture. Experiment with nuts or other flavor add-ins as desired.
