Ingredients

  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tablespoons maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a bundt pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the applesauce, molasses, brown sugar, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture gently.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  6. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before inverting onto a plate.
  7. For the glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar and maple syrup until smooth.
  8. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake and slice to serve.
