- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 2–3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and sugar.
- Add the melted butter, minced garlic, and the frothy yeast mixture to the flour mixture, stirring until a shaggy dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about an hour, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Punch down the dough, divide it into 12 pieces, and shape them into rolls.
- Arrange the rolls on a baking sheet and allow them to rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
For a vegan option, substitute butter with plant-based margarine. You can also add cheese or herbs for variations.
