Description
Crispy, cheesy, and garlicky sweet potato wedges—a healthier, crowd-pleasing side, snack, or appetizer.
Ingredients
- 2 large sweet potatoes
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment.
2. Wash and scrub sweet potatoes; cut into 1-inch-thick wedges.
3. In a bowl, mix olive oil, minced garlic, smoked paprika, onion powder, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
4. Toss wedges with the garlic oil mixture until evenly coated.
5. Sprinkle half of the Parmesan over the wedges and toss again.
6. Arrange in a single layer on the baking sheet without overcrowding.
7. Bake 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crisp at the edges.
8. Remove from oven; sprinkle remaining Parmesan to melt slightly.
9. Garnish with parsley and serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
Do not overcrowd the pan—space = crispiness.
Air fryer option: 400°F (200°C) for 15–20 minutes, shaking halfway.
Great dips: garlic aioli, ranch, or sriracha mayo.
Prep ahead: cut and season wedges, refrigerate up to 24 hours; bake when ready.
