Ingredients

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 packet onion soup mix
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, chopped onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into 4-6 patties, about 1/2 inch thick.
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the patties on both sides.
- Transfer the patties to a slow cooker in a single layer.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, and onion soup mix until smooth. Pour over the patties.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours (or high for 3-4 hours).
- Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles.
Notes
Browning the patties adds flavor; customize the gravy with red wine or tomato paste for a different twist.
