Description

Quick and easy caramelized banana slices that transform ripe bananas into a delicious treat in just minutes.


Ingredients

  • 2 large ripe bananas
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (or brown sugar)
  • Optional: A pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg
  • Optional: A tiny splash of vanilla extract
  • Optional: A tiny pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Peel the bananas and slice them into 1/2-inch thick rounds.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter until it starts to bubble gently.
  3. Sprinkle the sugar over the melted butter, stirring until combined.
  4. Gently place the banana slices in the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes on one side without stirring.
  5. Carefully flip the slices using a spatula and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until golden and caramelized.
  6. If desired, sprinkle in cinnamon or nutmeg and add a splash of vanilla extract during the last minute of cooking.
  7. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving warm.

Notes

Best served fresh, but can be prepared in advance. Store in the fridge for up to a day.
